Brisbane Motel Plots Tripling Size as Olympics Crunch Looms

Redevelopment plans more than tripling the size of a Brisbane motel have been lodged as the looming Olympics accommodation crunch, sustained population growth and rising visitor demand drive change across the city.

The proposal is for the long-established Comfort Inn on a 12,980sq m site at northside Carseldine, about 16km from the Brisbane CBD.

It has been filed by an entity linked to Queensland-based hospitality firm Relax Inn Group.
